1. Who we are

KiddoRemote ("the Software", Chinese name 宝贝遥控) is developed and operated by Zhongshan Weineng Software Development Studio (sole proprietorship) ("we", "us").

2. Information that stays on your computer and is never uploaded

The Software's main features run entirely on your own computer. The following information is stored only on this computer (data folder %APPDATA%\TVRemoteApp) and is never uploaded to any server:

• the library folder paths you add, show names, and covers generated from your own videos;
• watch history, resume positions, and daily watch time (used by parental controls);
• information about paired tablets.

The Software does not provide or upload any video content, and does not read any video content for us. This data is kept when you uninstall, so you can continue after reinstalling; you can delete the data folder above at any time.

3. Information sent for the trial and licensing

The Microsoft Store version is licensed the same way as the website installer version: it is a free download from the Microsoft Store, and both the trial and license keys go through our license server. License keys are bought on our website or shop; payment information is handled by the payment provider, and we never receive your card or other payment details. Until you accept this policy, the Software sends nothing to our server apart from the anonymous usage statistics below.

To issue the free trial, verify license keys and prevent piracy and abuse, the Software sends the following to our license server:

• Machine code: a hash (SHA-256) computed from the Windows machine ID and computer name, used to recognize "which computer this is". The original information cannot be recovered from it;
• Computer name: the name set in Windows, used to tell your devices apart if you have several computers;
• App version;
• License key: sent only when you enter a key to activate;
• IP address and time: visible to and recorded by the server when connecting, used to prevent abuse (for example, limiting brute-force guessing of license keys).

Anonymous usage statistics: to understand where users get stuck and improve the Software, it sends one count the first time each of these steps is completed: installed and opened, player found, library added, tablet paired, something played. Each count carries only the app version and channel (Store or installer version), and no machine code, computer name, titles or anything that could identify you or your computer; the server does not store the IP address of these requests. These counts cannot be linked to a person or a computer, are not personal information, and do not require your separate consent.

When it is sent: once when you start the trial after accepting this policy, then a check about every 12 hours; and once when you enter a license key.

We do not collect: names, phone numbers, ID numbers, contacts, location, watch history, or any information about children.

4. Information is stored outside mainland China (Japan)

Our license server is located in Tokyo, Japan (a server rented from Tencent Cloud and managed by us; Tencent Cloud only provides the infrastructure). The information listed in section 3 is therefore transferred outside the People's Republic of China for processing.

• Recipient: us (Zhongshan Weineng Software Development Studio), contact as above;
• Purpose and method: only for the trial, license management and abuse prevention described in section 3. It is not sold, not shared with anyone else, and not used for advertising;
• You can exercise your rights of access, correction, deletion and so on as described in section 7.

This requires your separate consent: until you tick the consent box in the settings page, the Software sends nothing to the license server.

5. How long we keep it

• License and trial records: kept until 1 year after the license relationship ends (trial ended without purchase, license expired or disabled), then deleted;
• Connection logs (IP address, time): kept for 6 months, then deleted.

6. About children

The Software is installed and set up by parents on their own computer. Children only pick videos from your own computer on the tablet. We collect no personal information about children; watch history and watch time are stored only on your computer.

7. Your rights

• Withdraw consent: click "Withdraw consent" in the License section of the settings page. The Software immediately stops sending personal information to the license server; because the license can no longer be verified, a website-installer trial stops working within 14 days (activated copies are not affected).
• Access, copy, correct, delete: email 953579411@qq.com with the last characters of your license key or your computer name. Deleting removes that computer's trial and license records.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially (for example, what is uploaded or where it is stored), the Software will ask you to read and accept it again in the settings page, and will not process information in the new way until you accept.
